Getting ready for bed, I quickly dashed for the bathroom before going to sleep. When I came back, the window was open and a cold breeze was coming from the outside. I shivered as I struggled to close the window. It was the middle of December, before the breaks, and a snowstorm was brewing up. I could see a blanket of snow spread all across the balcony. Finally, I tucked myself in and slumped my head into the pillows. As I was about to drift off, relaxing my muscles and thinking about all that had happened that day, I heard a soft crunching noise. As if something was walking on the clouds. I thought it was my imagination, but when the noise seemed to come closer, I started to panick. I traced my mind for the direction of the sound, and my mind lead me to the window, which was once again opened. "The wind is playing tricks, it keeps on opening the window." I tried to tell myself. The room was beginning to get cold again. So I got up and headed to the window. The curtains beside it were moving softly, which felt kind of creepy. When I reached out to grab the latch, something caught me by surprise. There, outside, in the blanket of snow, I saw footprints! My heart started to race. At first I thought it might have been a robber or something, but when I craned my neck to find a trace of anything moving, I saw no one. And the weirdest thing was, The footprints didn't lead anywhere. They started in the middle of nowhere, about a meter away from where my room was, and I could see that whoever "it" was, only took about three or four steps because after that, there was no trace of foortprints anywhere! I was very shocked and oh so afraid. But I couldn't do anything about it so I went back to bed, shivering with fright. That night, it had snowed, or maybe it hadn't. I don't know what happened, but the next morning when I woke up, the footprints were gone.
